1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

i don't mind posting them here or soon elsewhere, the less subscriptions the better. i can't trudge through the landfill to find the few worthwhile threads that exist

where are the pre-runway damir images , this is the place for them ! unless your'e referring to scantily clad men and their open bathrobes in which case don't link them :uhoh:

hence the necessity to fill the page 1 with more interesting threads that will push the landfill to the bottomless pit of oblivion beyond page 2

womens pre fall collection, not pre runway :)

2nd pic is glorious. I remember seen it a while (in Iwvri´s tumblr I think) and thinking how amazing it looked. Perfect "End of the World" coats.

Disappointed with Paris thus far. Hoping Raf is decent or today is going to be a total loss

When's the last time that happened :-/

His whole mainline collection this fall is making it to pretty steep discounts everywhere, I don't know how much revenue that's bringing compared to Dior but I'm really hoping it's a wakeup call

For me? Around 2004 or 2005. The trend has to reverse itself eventually, right?

I gotta be honest, that collection is really good especially compared to the disaster that was the last few Rick collections.

Nice! Really beautiful. Is she a designer, do the patterns, both?

It's sort of complicated but she does the designing (and occasionally handwork) of the beadwork and any detailing like that. she isn't personally doing the pattern or draping on these but works hand in hand with who does so she can get the intricate stuff incorporated. It's sort of split between these 2 "teams"

Still, I don't think all Marchesa dresses will go through her personally though, since she'll refer to certain things as "my dress" and that she was glad all 4 of the dresses in the Vogue article were "hers" so that she can just use the whole thing in her portfolio. Another one that was hers that impressed me was in the holiday windows at Bergdorf this year. There is a funny picture on a popular style blog of her working on it, but I won't post that or the name of the blog out of privacy reasons.

When I look at all my failed DIY attempts I'm just amazed at what these girls put out.

Ah, gotcha. Makes sense they'd split up the work like that on dress that's that intricate. Gives you a different appreciation for work like that when you know the person who did it and the crazy amount of labor that went into it. Great dresses.

Why do people use subscriptions so much ? Is your time so valuable that you can't afford to spend a couple seconds looking through one page of thread titles ? Are the benefits worth the risk of missing on good contributions.

I mostly work from a text-only terminal and browsing the main page with w3m is very inconvenient - using subscriptions lets me just scrape the page and find out the title of the threads that have been updated, and then can decide whether or not to open up a web browser (0) It's mostly to avoid being overly distracted dealing with fora; once my focus drifts it's at least an hour's lost productivity.
