I think some navy or olive pants could work. And I wouldnt necesarilly wear it with a tie but if want/have to then a slim (not skinny) tie would suffice. What kind of fabric is it?

A warning about shirts with small collars. Most of tem don't hold ties really well.

Any thoughts on how to wear this Jill suit? I feel like it requires a small shirt collar (have) and skinny tie (do not have). I'm thrown off by the high lapels and three button. Thinking about wearing for a day time wedding next month.

Is this the Tailor made line/cut? I wear mine with a crisp white shirt, no tie and thick black shoes.

What's the difference between the Jil labelled Tailor Made and Jil stuff without the label (if any)? I have a bunch of Jil, runway and non-runway, but there seems to be no common theme linking the Tailor Made stuff...

Hopefully somebody in here can give me some advice. I'm 5'6 and fairly built with a small waist; finding suits is near impossible for me because I cannot afford bespoke. Anything that is right in the chest is too long and shortening the jackets would ruin the proportions. I've looked at some Thom Browne and it works well, but outside of lucky eBay snags I wouldn't be able to build a wardrobe of it.

Some Engineered Garments looks good too, but I've learned that the Bedfords are too tight in the chest. Andovers and Trumans might work.

Top end of my budget is about 1k, but I'd prefer to stay as low as possible. Thank you!

Have you tried Calvin Klein Collection? Their suits work well with the athletic build.

Tailor made used to be better made than regular JS (full canvas, nice fabrics) but still very minimal (the suit I own doesn't have keyhole on the lapels, a top pocket or sleeve buttons and is made of a slick navy wool). Dunno about recent offerings as I liked JS JS not Raf JS (I know she's back).

There's quite a bit at/under $1K though, isn't there? What about Brooks Brothers Black Fleece? Also Epaulet suiting is pretty nice, and would seem to align w/ the idea of athletic build yet still slimmer overall cut. They offer a number of simple "custom" options for body length/arm length. You can get an idea of the aesthetic pretty quick on the site. Great customer service.

They use a few Southwick bodies which are "slim" for American physiques, but essentially mean "more muscle around the back and chest" compared to a lot of other countries. I'm Canadian, but they tend to fit me fairly well.
