i remember that one, from the sartorialist. i vaguely recall someone said at the time the jacket was dries, which seems plausible.

yeah i was doing some mental math today and realized lightweight jackets are practical for like two months out of the year. every other month i'd need a heavier jacket or, like you said, as few layers as possible to fight the DC humidity

I just rediscovered this jacket from Rag&Bone, way back from 2008... It is actually slightly more fitted then this picture from Men's No-no:

On the rack, it looks like this, but slightly darker - wool with a touch (2%) Elastane. Easy to throw into the luggage as an extra spring jacket:

Yeah, Rag & Bone used to make some interesting blazer-esque jackets. From FW09:

Not to mention the "Razor Blazer," also from 2009

Navy jacket seems pretty hard to come by without it being too washed out or midnight blue

Might just pick up one of those Uniqlo linen jackets

Oliver Spencer has got some cool suits and blazers this season. I don't know much about the brand, except they're from the UK. Reminds me a little of Junya. Maybe a little heritage-y. "Classic with twist" :)

Oliver Spencer is a really chill guy. I've had a couple of whiskey's with him, since he is always in the showroom during market week in NYC. I actually have a belt from one of his early collections, called the "cadet" belt, if you want to look it up. The jackets have never fit me quite right - they are slightly too boxy through the body and a bit too wide in the shoulders, but they are nice for the price.

It's not my look really, but I like Oliver Spencer's stuff. I've checked out the sales they do at the showroom twice a year and the pieces are nicely made with hearty fabrics. The wools always seem particularly robust but nice, if that makes sense. Most of it is made in the UK. I can see the appeal.

What do you mean by deconstructed? like you can take it apart? Synthese is selling one that's washable probably as casual as your going to find. Just search yoox I'm sure you can find something. Ok-ni has a huge sale going on too and there's a coupon code

anyone else find themselves over thinking what bottoms to pair with a simple navy unstructured blazer?

i get trapped into thinking :

summertime? ... wear with muted pastels / white ... or a light / royal / french blue --- no problem.
wear with denim? ..... can do but not so keen ... tend to avoid exept for really deep indigo.
wear with a dark blue chino? get all paranoid about too close to the color but not actually matching material.
then i end up not wearing the jacket except for with the somewhat limited (with) brick red / pastel blue chino 'middled age man with a yacht' trip.

... then i see Tirailleur's pics are just think "fuck!" .... must be his pocketsquares!!

off/white, gray, olive, tan (boring, I know, but can still look good if done well). I like beat up faded jeans, too.
