I'm still looking for a pair of dark brown/burgundy cap-toe, lace-up and leather soled 'dress boots'. Preferrably sub-$200.

    Any suggestions?

Call the toll free number on the site and ask for the wings and horns service boot.

They are the Dayton Service boots. This is the boot before it goes through the distressing process by W+H which involves soaking or something like that. These are similar to the ones at the bottom left corner of the images you posted.

i didnt know u could order them direct from Dayton before they distress them like that, does this alter the price at all since they need less steps to create the boot?

Ya they are quite a bit cheaper at $446 tax included. The remaining black models might be cheaper since they are already made but not too sure. You would have to call and ask. They were out of my size in oil tanned brown.

like 'em a lot, but 800$? They also have a shoe for 1'550$: Link [IMG]
And whats with these predistressed soles? Most unnecessary feature ever?

That's from his ready to wear line. The custom made are more.
