I've been bit by the vintage style hiking boots bug that doesn't seem to get much love on SF. [IMG] Paraboot Avoriaz. Bought a brown pair recently, but I have to wait until January before I get them because my size wasnt in stock. [IMG]
How much do these run anyway?

Been looking for some dark red / oxblood boots and saw these. Anybody heard of this brand - Esquivel? Apparently hand made in California. Look nice to my eye but $800? C'mon

they have some other stuff here: http://store.esquivelshoes.com/

there was a pretty interesting video if your into shoe-making on the homepage.

shoes that are not made using mass production mechanisms are very expensive. but when you think about it, they last a lifetime so they are cheaper in the long-run.

my guess is if you cannot appreciate this level of quality then your better off getting a mass produced cole-haan, allen-edmond, etc.

Do you mind telling me where you bought the Avoriaz? I just ordered from Pediwear but haven't got any message regarding the delivery date. Lark in Vancouver told me they would have new ones coming in 5 weeks so I am considering give it a try. Thanks.

Pediwear. They emailed me the next day, telling me that it was out of stock and asking if I wanted to wait for the January restock.

custom White's Semi-Dress came today. They look like really expensive, slightly customized Gentleman Travelers, I guess, but the cockfarmers at Red Wing don't make many boots in 13EE.

Those white's will be many times more comfortable than any red wings, anyways. GTs are fine if you want a decent looking boot. But if you're on your feet all day, there's no comparison. The white's tongue leather is absurdly supple, the arch support amazing, toe box with plenty of room. It's like wearing a pair of boots that feel like slippers.
