Formal Friday No.17, and out to dinner this time. Decided to pull out the red Thai silk jacket. Apart from that, straight ahead black tie.

My dinner jacket addiction is akin to the one more turn function of the civilization video games ... vox/fred astaire inspired waistcoat in a dark blue taylor and lodge mohair

I rarely do black tie (once or twice a year pre-pandemic), so I'm thinking about livening it up a bit. What's the concensus on either a Navy or Burgundy velvet dinner jacket?

Go burgundy. You're making a statement, so make one.

Wise words, my friend. This magnificent bastard will soon be heading my way. Extra 20% off on Spier & Mackey flash sale clinched the deal.
