    When did you buy it?

    I've been a regular Oliver Brown customer for more than a decade and bought a number of suits there. The older ones are great, in fact I was once asked who my tailor was. As time passed they cost cut and it showed - less nice fabric, proportions very off from the classic (e.g. DB peaks went from wide and pointing at the shoulder, to thin and pointing above the shoulder), some shoddy work (fake or badly finished buttonholes, messy shoulders...). The prices on the other hand stayed where they were. I guess the rent in Sloane Square is high, but Boggi is just round the corner and does better for the same money now (IMHO). To be fair my later purchases were online as the shop is too out of the way for non-residents on a tight schedule...

    This is how I did the first black tie event of the season. Opening night at the opera. The Budd Shirtmakers faille waistcoat pictured here. First real run with these velvet shoes as well.
