Ordered myself a 4oz bottle of the Aventus, was considering the GIT and Himalaya as well but I'll give this one a shot first.

I think you will be happy...I picked up a bottle at Saks and love it. IMO its not only the best smelling Creed scent but out of the ones that I have bought it seems to be the highest quality in terms of how long it lasts etc...

some of their stuff seems to fade pretty quickly, esp for the price point.

Want to give some more love to Aventus, I've tried many...many....many high end colognes and this one is just too good to pass up. I own the flacon....cause I liked it so much, with one spray you get that freshly bathed kind of scent not an overwhelming smell

I've pretty much cut down my cologne collection to 3

Creed Aventus
Creed Virgin Island Water
Tom Ford Italian Cypress

I've always thought Green Irish Tweed smelled just like Curve, which is about $10 and reminds me of my HS days

I never got the Curve connection with GIT, but at the Creed counter at Saks I couldn't find anything I liked more than these two (Aventus and GIT). Which is good, I don't need any more $285 bottles. :satisfied:

How about the Himalaya? Any comments on it?

Been using Lanvin Sport most lately, which is a nice citrus that works great for summer. Mixed it up a bit with Rykiel Homme Grey. But since they both are eau de toilette they don't last that long. When it's getting colder I'm bringing out l'homme sage from Divine again. Smells great and lasts all day long

If this has been answered just tell me to stfu and i'll edit my post into oblivion and dig into the thread.

For around a budget of around half of what Creed seems to be going for (looking to pay $100 or less), is there a possibility of getting a cologne that is free from the impurities of cheap mass market brands? Something I could feel 'ok' when spraying on myself and not showering for a day or two, or rather, spraying on clothes worth infinitely more than my well being?

I could always go for Creed but it seems its effectiveness is in doubt? Is there a middle ground where I'm not spraying filth on myself and yet can count on it to do double duty as deodorant.

Also of relevance might be the fact that I'll be in rainy Asia with unheard of humidity for the first couple months.

I pray to thee gods of olfactory :smarmy:

How about the Himalaya? Any comments on it?

himalaya is great, the best one by creed, (i haven't smelled aventus yet)
at first it is really fresh, but after some time it feels really ""warm and cozy" to me because of the amber and musk basenotes. i prefer to use it in the winter but it's good for other seasons too.
this is the only fragrance from which i've bought more than one bottle

Very spicy/metallic pepper like...light and fresh (a little feminine), on me it lasted about 3-4 hours, which was the least of any creed I've tested

Try this

My brother picked up one of their scents at their counter in Saks and liked it. I didn't care for any of their fragrances, but YMMV.

Also RFX, I have no experience with Himalaya, but I might have a sample. I'll dig next time I'm back at school.

after 3-4 hours you have to hold your nose very close to the spot you sprayed it on
it is very subtle and others probably won't recognize it, but the odor is so good, much better than the topnotes

4 years of curve and that violet just takes me back to it :)

It's really a great fragrance and the more you try it the better it gets, I just wish it lasted a bit longer

+1 on all this. Great scent, but does not last.
