find that the tapered leg limits my choices a bit... I rock some alden boots with my RRDS but the slight flare allows for them, doesn't seem to look right with NS

ok thnks for the suggestions

I find that my high top sneakers seem to look the best with my NS for me. Usually Dunks or Vans Chukkas. I need to invest in a pair of Sk8-Hi's though, as I think they would look really good with my NS.

When I wear my Loake chelseas they seem a bit cowboyish to me, do you not feel the same way? Maybe it is because my feet are big (sz 11 UK/12 US).

A girl asked me if they were cowboy boots one time (and those are 11.5US), but IMO they aren't pointy enough to really give off that impression. I think the bit of squaring off I did to the front of the sole on the chelseas helped quite a bit as well.

BTW, I have **** the outseams of my NSes up about 1" from the bottom to allow them to sit a little farther down on shoes. Anyone who's having probs with the taperedness of the bottoms might consider giving that a try - you can always stitch it back up later if you want.
