Those Meermin shortwing boots look very nice.

I saw a pair on the Meermin website some months ago, but they're no longer there. Maybe I should e-mail Meermin to ask if they're still available...

@jaoben - are the split-toe bluchers made from shell cordovan, too?

Just got this in the mail yesterday from Nick

Saint James II in deco last and color 8 Horween Shell Cordovan.

Am extremely pleased with the outcome and the shell finishing is the best I've seen thus far. Especially really like the red undertones on the caps and heel counters. They kind of disappear indoors though. And of course...the waist on the deco last. Love it!!!

Wanted to personally thank Nick as I know it's not easy to get GG to work with shell cordovans

    Sublime!

I really like how the vamps, quarters and toecaps are each cut with similar grain so as to be uniform between the right and the left shoe, even though the cuts reflect light differently within each shoe

    Nice!

How do you like the shell on the carminas? Do they have doubled linings like the boots (i.e. a buttery soft inner lining, and a stiffer 'middle' lining between the shell and the inner lining)?

Has anyone on the forum had experience with Nettleton shoes? They're a U.S. based manufacturer that deals in calf, shell, and other exotics -- their offerings look classic, but I'm not sure they're worth the huge price point.

I though they went out of business. Somebody must have resurrected the brand.

They look interesting. Their shell is $1500 though... I am deciding if I want to give them a shot.

That's crazy talk, on both counts.

They'd want to be gold-plated for that amount of money.

So you think $1,500 is too high? I don't know anything about their build quality and was going to do all kinds of research and inquires into how they construct their shoes.

Perhaps--but I saw recently EG shell PTB going for $1825 on Mr. Porter. So it's not unheard of. @mdubs I'm interested to see what you think about them.
