Well it didn't take long for me to fulfill one of my New Years' Resolutions! First pair of shell boots (or shoes), got lucky in London with finding the last Skye II in stock which happened to be my size. Well half size smaller than normal but they fit just fine. Now I need to figure out how to keep these in good looking shape. Have a good system with calf skin, but I realize these are different.

Look good! Brushing is your friend. The Mac method is a good place to start.

Guess your resolution was to get a pair of shell boots. I feel like on this forum it may be to not buy any more footwear this year.

Spent some time on 3 shell boots yesterday. Brands are AE, Carmina, Vass.

Haha yeah, though my other one was give up French fries in 2019 (not that I eat them much) after giving up potato chips all of 2018 and on.

I went all of 2018 without buying any footwear, 2019 is just ifo to a great start!

The AE Chukkas are beautiful. I have a pair in the brown shell and for the price paid (on the secondary market) can't be beat.

So, finally got my bourbon scotch grain Horween shell boots from the Rider GMTO. Have to say I really like the look of the scotch grain shell. There are a few mistakes where the dyer strayed onto the welt. But otherwise I’m happy with them. I got them feathered up to essentially a 9E width, and the fit is perfect.
