Very nice - the DWFII are unusual - how do they wear?

Santoni makes a beefy shell cordovan shoe, huh? Here are mine from a few pages back. I need to work on my shine.

beautiful, but I'm 98% sure not shell. Very reminiscent of vintage styles of the 40's.

Thanks. Really, really well. They fit great and are supportive w/o being inflexible.

Late edit: Here are a couple pics after about 30 wears:

C&J for RL PTB - I think this is even nicer than the Darlton wingtip and I have both.

They don't have these online anymore - can you get them in B&M stores?
Why is this showing up in the quote??

If you like shell - you *might* like these. If you don't like shell - you're going to *hate* them.
RL C&J Giffords (my beaters) - they're hella' old and have had a recraft.

I have that same pair, and I haven't worn them enough to break them in. Your pair doesn't look much more worn in than mine.

This is why I love them. Before I got them recrafted - the sole was paper thin and the heel dovetail was all but gone. They came back from C&J looking like new.

Can you tell me how much C&J charged for the recraft?

It was a while ago now. Might have been in the region of £80 - £100 but I can't be sure.
