How did you size these?
They are TTS for me. I sized them at 42 which is a US 9D.
#8 shell Fairgate from Allen Edmonds. Introduced in 1999.
Lindrick pic from the other day.
They are really nice! I've never seen that model before but I love the sole edge, stitching near the rear quarter to balance the look and the exposed eyelets.
What last is that?
It's on the 325 last. Made by Crockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren.
Oops. Sorry. I meant the Fairgates. I've searched since the post and it looks like they are on the 1 last.
I think that is correct, number wise. Buy I can say that they fit FAR better than other shoes I have tried that are built on the 1 last. Not sure of the reason for the difference. Not even sure if they are actually on the same 1 last or if it was different than the 511 that is now referred to as the "1 last."
Update: I went back to the 2000 catalog, just after this shoe was being released, and it states it was the 1 last and the (511) is listed as the entire number. But it still fits better than other shoes on that last for me. Neither the Leeds, Wilbert or the Bradley fit me worth a damn and yet they are all the same 511 last.
Mine fit the same as my Leeds (1.0).
Rancourt x Ralph Lauren Natural Shell Cordovan Penny Pinch Loafers. Brooks Bros Navy Argyles OTC. Brooks Bros Navy Houndstooth Trousers.
Too quite on the thread for a Monday morning. AE blue shell MacNeils.
Well those are definitely a good way to start a week!
I love the edges and sole on that shoe! I did a similar thing to the Carlyle....
