I agree as well. There are plus and minus for each brand. As one point of direct comparison, I've found that the leather soles on my Carminas wear down slightly quicker than one my Aldens.

Lovely, simply lovely. I've seen a lot of Alden shell cordovan/calf saddle shoes this summer, many which I did not care for, but these are something very special. Thank you for posting these pictures.

Thought this might interest some of you, so please excuse my cross-post from the Vass thread. Boots in saddle shell cordovan. There are some indoor pictures in my profile.

    x-post from the Trickers thread:

Spoke with Richard at SH and he likes my idea for a group MTO and is willing to take 2 pairs himself.

Meaning I need to get 4 more, so with me we only need 3 2 more. Price quoted was 412.50 GBP excluding Vat and he pays shipping (wasn't clear if this was just from factory to him or him to us).

This is the mock up I proposed:

Tricker's Eaton Model (w/ no medallion on toe)
    Iris Cordovan Leather
    Silver Eyeletts
    Red Lining
    Red pull loop
    Red dainite sole
    Natural Welt
    Fashion Yellow Laces
    4497 Last

Was also informed priced across the board for stock and MTO are going up effective August 1st, so let's get on this order. $631 or so Iris Shell Cordovan Boots!!

PM Me if you want aboard - Only need 2 more now!

Think Something Like This, but with silver eyeletts. (sorry about the photo edit job):

Iris Cordovan is actually darker ala:

Wow, there are some gorgeous shoes and boots in this thread! I've never gone through it before, but probably spent too much time on it last night. Thought I'd share my modest cordovan collection.

Meermin and Vintage Florsheim Royal Imperials. Unfortunately, the Florsheims have some cracking now, but I continue to wear them anyways as I search for another good pair. Also, before it's mentioned, I know they both need some Reno and a good brushing. :D

    jchosco,
florsheims look great. I'd have to be a small dog to notice any cracking.

Posted this to the Tricker's thread earlier but this is a really unique cordovan color, looking to get a MTO Stow done in the same color:

Cross post from the Carmina thread:

Group shots of my Carminas thus far along with a couple matching one-piece shell belts from Horoween. I have a green shell longwing from the Epaulet MTO thread on the way as well.

I would go with 10D. I found them to fit a bit long and wide.
