No problem. Only paying it back to the forum.

I am a true 8.5E but do an 8.5D (uncomfortably) to a 9D. So if they do not fit me, it seems they may work for you. I'll let you know.

Does anyone have any experience with Grenson's shell offerings? I'd really like to get this longwing in NAVY, but I'm afraid that the 10UK would be too big for my 10.5DUS feet.

What about Paul Smith, again at End?

    Indios Brogues

    Thanks,

    Nick D.

ncdobson we have the same size feet, and I suspect that a UK10 in either would be too big. You'd want a 9.5UK, or in the case of the Grenson, perhaps even a 9UK.

I didn't ask about the Paul Smiths, but I asked about the navy longwings & was told that they ARE Horween shell. That's a great price for an unusual color. Too bad they're at the end of their limited run.

Bought these bad boys for 260 Swedish kronors, about 40$, without knowing anything about them.
A guy in a store looked at them and we searched a little on the internet. Turns out they are probably Cordovan Florsheim, quiet roughed up but I like them.
I really need to get some new laces.

Excuse the very narrow pants, I am young and dumb.

Yes, but not those particular narrow pants. Shell doesn't go well with Gap khakis. There is a slim chino thread that can help you out.

EDIT: Also forum affiliate Need Supply stocks a wide variety of cheap, slim chinos. If you have the funds, buy Epaulet and W+H.

I received my Walnut Shell Strands today. They look pretty good after a preliminary cleaning and brushing. Apparently, whoever finished my pair was of the opinion that he/she needed to add more color to my shoes.

    Here's how they look now.

And a pic of the Walnut Strand between a color 8 Cap Toe boot and a Ravello PTB.

Sorry for the shitty iphone pics.

Those Paul Smiths are NOT cordovan. They're cordovan color calf.

bump for a recent find of mine

vintage Hanover shell PTB's. I *think* these were originally "Black Cherry" shell. I know AE used to use this color, as I think I posted up above. I'm showing the Hanover next to the Black Cherry AE PTB (the Hanover is the gunbboat with the huge welt, the AE has the Alden shoe trees). also posting for color comparison the burgundy shell C&J boots. amazing color on these old guys. it may be patina'd #8 but I think it started out much more red and less burgundy

EDIT: they probably looked like this originally

    C&J, AE, Hanover

C&J, Hanover, AE (don't ask why I flipped the two)

    Hanover, AE

    my guess at original color:
