It doesn't look like cordovan to me, it looks too flimsy and the small crease in the front part of the shoes looks more like calf.

Out of curiosity were those Allen Edmonds McAllisters? I don't think AE ever made that model in shell, though I suppose someone could have had one MTO'd in shell.
Recently, when there was a lot of discussion concerning Shell LWB's. I asked about the quality of Florsheims current LWB offerings in Horween Shell Cordovan, but I got no responses. So, I pose the same question again, specifically: How do they compare with other makers and to vintage Florsheims (BTW how old would you have to go to get to vintage). Trying to educate myself on these.
Thanks.
There have been very few non vintage Florsheim made in shell. What you're looking for is Made in USA Florsheim. Once they moved to India/offshore the quality went downhill, so avoid.
There was some "Florsheim by Duckie Brown" made in shell a couple years back but you don't see a lot of that floating around.
So, are your referring to the quality of construction on the Made in India? Or, are they using an inferior/lower grade of shell from Horween? Or both??
