There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Ok guys. What do you think of these? Are they worth $611? [IMG]

They are seconds, a few wrinkles and maybe a eyelet off center...but overall pretty good. MSRP $750 but you can get a pair of 1st Quality for $691 when on sale. Would you keep these or get a 1st quality pair?

Those look pretty good, just a little rough finishing. The color difference is a matter of personal taste, but they should even up once you take off some of the excess factory polish, or add some burgundy cream to both.

Those are really a statement boot. What is the other leather? It reminds me of shark, but I don't think it is.

The leather came to fruition from experimenting with a ton of different leathers and looking through dead stock leather hides from Solegarb. If I remember correctly they are actually mountain ram in an almost matching shade that was sanded (just ever so slightly to erase the dye on the raised leather and open the grain a bit), re-dyed, and then sealed. They came out so well in my opinion.

    (cross-posted on AE thread)

    Posing a (semi)hypothetical...

If the price were the same, would you have a brown shell...

AE Strand or C&J for BB (under the brand Peal & Co.) wingtip?

Both lovely, both fit a similar niche (for me anyway... likely to wear both with chinos/flannels and occasionally with denim), both similarly colored, both similarly priced... is it as simple as taking the one that's normally ~40% more expensive?

    TIA!

C&J, for sure. Their cordovan shoes are top notch. The brown shell Strands are very nice, but C&J is such a solid shoe.

I like AE, but CJ is head and shoulders above. Go for it!

Espresso Rancourt loafers today, these have hit the rotation quite a bit for me this summer. Such a comfortable pair and I am very happy I picked them up.
