Come on now, they're at least an Acura on the entire shoe spectrum. :)

    Those Carminas are killer though.

If we're talking about quality welted footwear, then I'm sticking with Honda: well-made, quality, reliable products (assembled in America from foreign-made parts) that will last a long time if properly cared for. Perhaps not the most luxurious or finely detailed, but of honest quality, and backed by a reputable, ethical company.

I've owned 3 Hondas, and many pairs of Allen Edmonds. Ain't a damn thing wrong with either!

But they're not in the same league as Carmina, CJ, or Alden.

Any ideas on how to remove the watermarks? Have brushed already but that didn't seem to help.

Some folks have success with conditioner and a deer bone. Or wetting the whole area and buffing/brushing.

Neither has worked for me. In one pair, they just faded into a patina over time. On another pair, they eventually disappeared after about 6 months of regular wear and care. And on another pair, they're still prominent over a year later. Sigh.

    Good luck.

Well said. I think someone needs to make a comprehensive list of analogous shoemakers and automakers. Any takers?

Your comment got me thinking.. as a former S2000 owner (pre-kids, as turning the trunk into a rumble seat for child seats was a non-starter with the missus), what is the s2k of AE? The oxymoron... the fun, comparatively rare and expensive Honda that's no longer made... is it an MTO-era shell Grayson (or closer to home, the PC-famous natty shell Dundee)?

The Park Ave must be the Accord and the shell Park an Acura TLX, no? Same thing with better leather?

I'm not sure if you are wanting to date the Hanover or the Florshiem. The position of the v cleat on the Florsheim shows it was made after 1973. For more information I will need a photo of the logo on the insole and a picture of the size and style imprint information on the side of the shoe. You can post that here or PM it to me if you choose.

So well played in every way. Bravo Sir!

How would you rate these in the general sense?

    Thanks.

Thanks man. Love the shoes but this particular pair is very susceptible to water spots/little bumps. Probably worse than any other pair of Horween cordovan shoes I have. Boning/conditioning/brushing makes them smooth and look good but the water spots/little bumps come right back after a couple wears even when there's no rain.
