There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Excuse me for pulling up an old post... but does anyone else do this with their shells? Last summer I left a pair of vintage Florsheims out in the sun for almost a month. They developed a really vibrant, almost cherry, color. AHS

No...I just wear mine for a few years and then they look even better than that.

Wear them a few decades and they'll look even even better...

I like the really dark color on some of my shell. I don't think I want it to prematurely age,

    Tocoshillguy-

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Yeah, they definitely aren't in super great shape, but I couldn't let a pair just sit there unused haha.

I'll probably end up giving them to a friend who has smaller feet if they don't sell.

If we all had as much shell as he does, we probably all would be experimenting more.

There wasn't a memo, I'm just risking the collective wrath and public shaming.

    Nice Townleys!

I didn't. I should have.. but I didn't. The Florsheims were a 1/2 size too small so I ended up selling them on ebay.

On an unrelated note, I used Venetian Shoe Cream for the first time yesterday. Great stuff! Better, IMO, than the saphir I have used in the past.

^ post the after. I think we all have an idea of what florsheim color 8 looks like. Looks like juicy summer blood red cherries

I agree with the venetian i much rather have a bottle of that than an equal amount of the rediculously overpriced saphir. But tha saphir smell reminds me of my first shell. Takes me right back to 2010. I had an old, practically empty jar of saphir that i filled with venetian and i get the best of both worlds

Here is a nice photo, taken by SF member Brianpore, of the shoes. He sold them for me on ebay.

In addition to sunbathing them, I also gave them some nifty red vibram soles.

    No Sir.

These are actually Long Wings by Carmina.

The short wings you are thinking about were sold due to poor fitting.

    These are their replacements.

    Thanks.
