1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I read a tip once that you should put that sig on your regular email too and never send more than a one-line email. I thought it was a great tip.

I deleted that sig because I don't want people to know I can receive/send email on the go.

I don't think it's a big deal. It tells people you are not in front of a computer, which could then explain the email's length, tone, etc.

It's great to not be a billboard, but trying to hard to avoid it is just as annoying as emphasizing it.
Life is too short to worry about it.

Hey, the medium is the message. I think it's a big "look at me", but so is the iPhone itself.

Look at all you snobs, puttin' on airs by wearin' shoes with laces 'stead of Velcro and drivin' cars with two workin' headlights.

I changed it to "Sent from my butt"

One time a professor sent me an email and it had the "sent from my blackberry" signatured and I forgot to change the "sent from my butt" so now he thinks I'm mocking him

However, if you see that it was sent from a mobile device, it means that you're receiving a sort of improvised on-the-go response that excuses its brevity.

What say you? Is "sent from my iPhone" all right to leave on your email sig?

it's fine, for reasons you already mentioned

I always take that off, it's so stupid. It should say Sent from my wireless device, so that your reader knows why your spell sucks so bad.
