Quite a heavy dose of hyperbole, no?

For example, what, in the context of this thread, would make these more exceptional than say the Ooe Yofukuten jeans where you can pic your own denim, pocket lining, and fit between the three models?

And they are cheaper.

Yeah- you're right; I got it mixed up with the SelfEdge x RingRing jeans. The story of the Roy's jeans is that it is all constructed by a single person- artisanal, not production line.

+1

That is essentially my point. Just putting some love out there for their craftsmanship.

i dont know. its kind of like paying a premium for production inefficiency that has no specific purpose except to exact a premium

People tend to forget jeans are workwear.....I would pay for premium fabrics and sturdy construction, don't see the value of hand crafting a pair of jeans except as quoted above.

Worth mentioning, "made in china" is the epitome of efficiency.

Don't people here go gaga over handwork/hand stitching in pants/jackets/shirts? Or does handwork in MC approved clothing actually serve a functional purpose worth paying a premium for whereas the same cannot be said for jeans/SW&D gear?

I'm just curious to know when hand stitching is worthwhile to have other than for pride of ownership reasons.

Decorative handwork does not serve any function purposes, but a entirely handmade tailored jacket has many functional advantages over a machine made or mass produced item, stitching is just part of the crafting process. The absolutely benefit of hand making a tailored jacket is a fact, the relative value/premium is subjective.

I, for one, would be seriously interested on cptjeff's claim.

High quality food that outshines their cheaper cousins can be found in any cuisine, including Chinese. Sounds like you don't appreciate good quality Chinese food, just as others might not appreciate good quality,if expensive, clothing like anal-to-detail jeans.
