Norton & Sons, which owns the E.Tautz name, is relaunching the brand as a RTW line. The website, which has nothing of substance but a lot of nice design work, is lovely to look at. One nice point is that they emphasize the use of U.K. sources for everything they sell. They also, as they must, make a point of the famous Tautz lapel. While I like it (though not as much as Yachtie), it is certainly a dated look and it is hard to imagine the tailored clothing line going anywhere if this is emphasized. Hat tip, as they say, to A Continuous Lean, which is where I first saw mention of the revival of the line.

It's a strange time for luxury brands to be reviving themselves.

On the website, the Tautz lapel looks very much like any other peak lapel to me. Nothing so bizarre as what Yachtie does.

I had my doubts that you really once lived on the LES of the city.

You have convinced me that it's true

Nice pic of Tony Biddle on that page.

A bygone age of Pennsylvanians: Biddle's father was a one of the world's experts in close hand-to-hand combat and had a pet alligator. Biddle's father was also one of Gene Tunney's boxing instructors.

A lethal, rich, wonderful WASP...he lived as iGents fantasize.

His son, Tony, seen in that photo on the Tautz site, was a George Frazier favorite. Not as swell as the dad, but not bad.

Fix'd

I too found it odd that they really didn't show a good example of a Tautz lapel .
