recently rec'd two more back issues I ordered several weeks ago-- each one better than the next (article on blue blazers was pretty cool).

Question-- has anyone else bought anything they saw in the rake, or plan to? I liked a pair of thurston braces so much from one of the photo spreads I ordered a set, and have a mind to MAYBE see Tim Everest during a USA visit to talk about that awesome tux he did for the magazine-- if they will split up the cost for me (half up front, half upon completion)

FWIW... Just so we can put a face to the name, the gentleman on the right is Wei Koh, founder of The Rake. (The gentleman on the left is Nick Foulkes.) [IMG] I believe the shirt he is wearing may have made an appearance or at least been mentioned before - in the Charvet article IIRC. I have enjoyed nearly every article I have read in The Rake, and have just signed up for a 2 year subscription.

Nice jacket, I wonder if it's one of the freebienacci's that he got from doing that article [IMG]

I do not think it (Wei Koh's jacket) is a Rubinacci. Italian, almost certainly; Rubinacci, no. I agree though, nice jacket. [IMG]

I called into the Lodger in London yesterday and they said that they haven't received #6 yet as there were issues with postage from Singapore.

Really helpful guys though - they offered to post it to Ireland at cost whenever it arrives.

Given the extremely high notch on Nick's lapels, it's most certainly Italian

Mine apparantly got lost in the mail after 3 weeks. I mailed them and they sent me a copy via Express Mail.

Like I said it's a great mag but it does have alot of ads. Still worth a suscribtion.

I've got the entire set - issues 1-7, including an extra issue each of issue 6 and 7

issue 7 is the january one which isn't out even in singapore et (tom ford cover)

i'm open to parting to any or all of them for a reasonable offer. in addition i'd be happy to get them in singapore and post them to wherever, which i think will still reach more quickly than a subscription (which actually arrives two weeks later for every alternate issue).
cost of mag + postage + plus a little more, pm me.

btw just got back from the rake 1st anniversary party in singapore, pretty dire dress standards overall. i do feel the last couple issues (6 & 7) have seen a slight drop in quality, and more commercialism and advertisement influence - boss selection, raoul etc. hope it doesn't become another GQ.
