Thank you for such a collage - I found here what I was looking for. I clicked Anthony Veer's cap-toes but did not take me anywhere and finally found them on DSW.

So, i am looking for a black cap toe oxford. around the 450 USD range...

I have narrowed it down to 2 options. Carmina on their Rain last and TLB Mallorca Artista on their Goya last. What do u guys think ?? is there anything else i should consider at this price range ??

Carmina on their Rain last

And TLB Mallorca Artista on their Goya last.

What was the decision?

Consider trying Anthony Veer Clinton or Musk If you like to save money. Apparently, Carlos Santana also has Cap-toes known as Woodstock. Both are Welted. My favorite is Clinton from Anthony Veer.

I’m looking for a pair in the $600 range, been eyeing Churches and C&J. Is there a clear quality difference between the two? Or any other one I should be looking into?

I would say C&J over Church's. I believe, imo, C&J utilizes a higher quality leather, even at the handgrade level. Both are good-year welted, so construction is equal.

For the money, I would just grab some 804 lasted Enzo Bonafes which are hand-welted.

Alternatively, I may also do the TLB Artista line for about $150 less.I would just put some wax flat laces on these.

I wouldn't buy Church. Especially their polished leathers which is corrected grain.

In todays market C&J is much better quality than Churches.

U might also wanna look at Enzo Bonafe, Vass and Antonio Meccariello around that price point

Speaking on italian made Churches I agree. But what's exactly much better in C&J comparing with Made in England Churches? I mean Church's Custom Grade vs Crockett Main Collection(Handgrades are better without a doubt).

I see the difference mainly in the look and the style. Church's look more 'substantial' shoe, more english and traditional I would say. Crockett - more elegant and refined.

I agree with Stani, I like the heft of Church´s Customs Grade, and wouldn't say that they are of inferior quality than C&J Main Collection. By the way I own 7 pairs of Church´s and 5 of C&J.

The real difference comes from the leather grade. C&J uses a higher grade (as per a visit I had in a Northhampshire factory). Other than that difference, the shoes are made exactly the same. Church's tends to use slightly thicker hides (corrected grain which tends to be inferior) and double soles which would probably account for that "heft" @JUAN MANUEL mentioned. C&J also has a finer silhouettes which would also account for a slightly more sophisticated aesthetic.
