Just found this thread! Nice work Synth, Wish I could have been there with you and Greg. Definitely had a great time traipsing around Italy with him and his brother. Couldn't write about it at the time because everything was hush-hush with NMWA!

    Keep up the great work.

Greg, love the "meat coma"-stare. Honestly though, you can't tell from this picture but Greg is actually a huge dude, are you bending your knees or something to make the SF people look less tiny or is Unbel taller than I remember? What people don't know is that Greg used to be the Gulag Bear Wrestling Champion back in the 00's. With a physique like that I'm amazed he looks so damn elegant. Hats off to that fella.

Haha - I did feel like a midget next to you though.

I'm convinced this photo was photoshopped by Synthese and ragazzo as some sort of sick homage to Masaccio's work on perspective at the neighboring chapel. Clever. But I'm a taller, bigger and definitely happier individual than is depicted here !

    It begins!

The brand write-ups are coming. I know that you've been dying for me to tell you what to like, and before we begin I just want to say that you can like whatever you want and I won't judge you for it.

I'm going to link all the articles here as they come out, so keep following the thread. And the front page. And RFT. Or wherever else I decide to spam this garbage.

Just stumbled upon this fantastic thread whilst googling Pitti Uomo reviews and wanted to express my compliments to Synth by signing up to Styleforum and writing this post.

We, the Sartor Resartus Team attended Pitti Uomo for the first time to get a glimpse into the big #menswear machine, and can relate to all the observations & antics- especially being overwhelmed by the peacocking & bloggers and trying to visit almost 1000 brands after too much Chianti, Bistecca and only 4hrs sleep.

Westage & Co is really doing some great stuff out of Korea. Some of our other favourite contemporary brands were Norwegian Rain & Bastong (another Korean brand, specialising in Jackets with amazing details, the designer was a fascinating guy telling us the story behind each small design detail). Did you get a chance to check them out?

A Kind of Guise (whom we know through some mutual friends) are also doing some commendable things- what's most interesting is that they've managed to establish a strong & high quality Made In Germany production in Southern Germany where there was previously zero apparel industry.

We also did a little write up about our first Pitti impressions on our journal that we wanted to share with SF readers. From the perspective of young, naive and overwhelmed first-time attendants, writing about the general atmosphere, Pitti peacocks, viral Pitti trends and how the street style paparazzi machine really works.

Would love to run into you & other SF members this summer at Pitti 86!

P.S. here's the link to our article http://www.sartor-resartus.co.uk/blogs/journal/11702329-pitti-uomo-85 - could also embed the full article, if that is preferred in the Forum.

The latest impressions of clothing that is worth wearing can be found here. This week, Korean brand Westage & Co. makes a strong case for a return to chopping logs with our bare hands.

Will Harris Wharf be covered soon? I'm interested in their jackets, but the cut seems odd, with narrow shoulders and wide hips. The shoulders on a size 38 blazer are 15".

HWL needs more American stockists, if they even have any at the moment. The unstructured cuts and raw edged fabrics have me uber intrigued.

Yes, they're coming up soon. Really nice stuff. I can't speak to sizing, but it's a cool brand.

Barney's has a couple of HWL blazers on sale, I think, but no sizing info. I got the shoulder measurement by contacting volls.de.

Looking forward to your usual great write-up, Synthese.

    Very much enjoyed reading this!

Also bought one of the pocket squares on sale, hope it will look good with my new navy Harris Tweed jacket.
