It's a coffee table, no? Don't you put coffee mugs, books, other drinks, magazines, the newspaper, plates, feet, etc. on there as needed, and then remove them when finished? I think that TylerDurden

A different colored rug might be a little more flattering to the room as a whole. I'm new to decorating, there seem to be a lot of different shades of brown, and a lot of pattern (the rug, fireplace brick, the wood grain, etc.) that detracts from the individual pieces. A solid, soft colored (if that makes any sense) rug might do the table some justice.

Edit- I just checked out the noguchi stuff- pretty, but that's an expensive coffee table.
