Hi guys,

Im checking in here in my room here at TheHOTEL before going out and celebrating the pats victory a bit more, I thought it was a good game although I didn't think it was as close as the score indicated, the Eagles just didn't excecute at many points when the game was close. I did end up taking the points (at -8 on Thurs) but it wasn't a big bet, and I'm really glad I didn't take the over (at 48) Will check in with you guys tommorow when I get back to the OC.

God bless those Patriots. Between the pats and the Sox, I'm getting spoiled...

Now if the Bruins would only get to play.

Congratulations to the Patriots.  As a 'Skins fans, it pains me to acknowledge that Bill Belichick is the Best Football Coach Ever.  Now if Joe Gibbs can win another Super Bowl in the next four years . . .

But they named the Trophy after a guy named Lombardi...

A lot of people thought that, but I didn't really see it.

McNabb was sacked on the first drive, and fumbled (although it was overturned on review)

Pats moved the ball and had decent field position, but then punted.

McNabb was intercepted (but it was overturned after illegal contact), then intercepted again on the next pass.

NE didn't move the ball too well, then punted.

Eagles put together a good drive than scored.

Pats punted.

Eagles lost the ball due to a fumble.

Pats drove towards the goal line than lost the ball due to a fluke fumble.

Eagles drive stalled and they punted.

Pats put together a good drive than scored.

Not much happened towards half time, clock mgmt was bad.

The halftime stats were pretty similar, and yes, the Eagles lost two turnovers in the first half, but the Pats also lost one, and that's part of the game, saying they should have been up 2 TDs or more is just sour grapes. If his aunt had balls, he would be his uncle too.

You could really the changes in the pats game plan in the second half... I have no idea what is up with the Eagles clock mgmt during this game... it was the worst I've ever seen a team do this season (regular season or post season) and it came at the worst possible time.

I think Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb took the Eagles and the points.  They were looking to cover the spread, not to win.  How else do you explain huddling with five minutes to go?  Do the Eagles not practice the two-minute drill?

You just stated that the Eagles should have been up by 2 td's. Hence my statement on them not capitalizing on their domination. koji

I didn't state that the Eagles should have been up two TDs, McNabb did.

The Eagles had two turnovers, who knows what would have happened if they didn't, one of them was close to the end zone, but it's hardly a guarantee that they were going to score, especially since on the play before that they had a lucky break on another INT...

The other turnover was on the other side of the 50 yard line, and who knows what would have happened if the turnover hadn't happened.

The pats also lost a turnover, and that one was inside the Eagles 10 yard line...

McNabb just wasn't overly sharp today, he made some good throws, but the bad throws that he made really killed them, also if you watched the excecution, the pats just seemed the sharper team (and they usually do)

I guess my point was that I thought the pats were sharper throughout the game.

McNabb was too hyped up, he gets like that sometimes, and then ends up throwing high and fast. He settled down, but I had the sinking feeling that the Eagles should have been up and not tied, and that it was going to end up bitting them in the a$$. Which it did.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005....ex.html Ok, now the word is that McNabb was sick during the 4th quarter and barely able to survive... don't you think this would have been a good time to bring in Detmer for a couple plays? They had 5 minutes left... and dehydrated in the Super Bowl? It looked like many Eagles had this issue, Kearse, Pinkston, and now McNabb? The Eagles should take a long hard look at their training staff...

But the IMPORTANT NEWS:

Bush Successfully Consumes Pretzel
\t

WASHINGTON, DC--President Bush was reported to be in good condition Sunday after completing a risky pretzel-eating operation during the Super Bowl. The President choked on a pretzel last year in a much publicized mix-up that led to a rethinking of the administration's pretzel-eating policy. This year, his cabinet advised him to chew more thoroughly before attempting to swallow the salted treat, a practice that paid big dividends, as Bush was able to avoid a repeat of last year's embarrassing mishap.
"The pretzel consumption went off without a hitch," said White House spokesman Scott McClellan. "The President was able to place the pretzel in his mouth, chew exactly five times in order to grind the object into pieces small enough to fit down his esophagus, and complete the process without incident."
McClellan added that the President may attempt another pretzel-swallowing at next year's Super Bowl.
