Thrifted this Brioni overcoat, but not sure if I should try to slim it down or keep it as it is?

Gentleman I need your help please. I am now overthinking for two weeks which overcoat is better. I have brown hair and brown eyes. Which one is more versatile and better? I fear that the blue one has not wide enough lapels or am I overthinking? The more short opinions, the better. Thank you very much and best wishes from Germany

What are you planning to wear it with? I get a more formal vibe from the navy personally.

do you think the navy one has a good lapel width/size?
Imo they are both nice. They do not seem to have disproportionate features. Since you are not really wearing suits either would work easily. Which color would better fit your wardrobe? That is how I would make my decision. If you favor lots of blues in your sport coats I like the brown better. Navy for the reverse. Shades could also come into play depending on your styling preferences.

Just my 2 cents for how I would approach it.

this helped very much, especially for the proportions for which I not yet have an experienced eye - thank you!

I prefer the brown one and, if you wear preferably sport coats and separates, it would suit better your wardrobe. The blue one is a classic though, and you won't be wrong with either of them. Stylistically they look pretty similar too.

Hi All
I used to live in the UK and had a pretty nice Crombie overcoat, however:
I move to Australia (not so 'overcoat' weather)
I put on a bit of weight so the UK38 coat is now a bit tight as I am more of a 40/42
Crombie appear to have gone out of business?!

I am going to shortly be moving to Toronto so need to rebuild my winter wardrobe somewhat.
My initial purchase is going to be a smart (wear over a suit / suitable for work) overcoat / top coat.

I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions, the Crombie is single breasted and similar in style to this https://turnbullandasser.co.uk/products/the-joseph-navy-wool-tailored-overcoat
Given the Crombie still just fits (probably not over a suit) I was considering something in a double breasted, does anyone have any experience of this Mackintosh https://www.mackintosh.com/gg/shopp...ashmere-double-breasted-coat-gm-1101-16713372 I found a place to try it on here in Aus and its seems nice but I am concerned they dont publish the fabric weight and its seems a little lighter (colder) than the Crombie.

I would love a PS / Private White coat but this https://www.privatewhitevc.com/products/the-deluxe-belted-overcoat?variant=40770337964093 seems a bit too casual.

Any thoughts / suggestions (especially those that have experienced a Toronto winter in style would be gratefully received!

Thanks
