Hi all. I ordered this from Berg & Berg but unsure how it looks. It’s my first raglan purchase and it feels slightly boxy. I have come to you guys for some advice and to tell me how it looks.

I've just ordered one of these myself and am in a similar situation (unsure if I'd prefer a 46 or 48).
I got the impression from the measurements that the shoulders would probably be too small if I went for the smaller size, so I went for a 48.
I think yours looks good from the first photo

Thank you Tom. I am inclined to keep it now, although my other half isn’t too sure but I’m sticking to my guns! I didn’t have the option of 46 as I might have ordered that one.

Its good as is. The shoulder thing is just because of it hanging. Put some water moisture into that spot on either side and wear it. This will soften up that spot and smooth it back out as it conforms. I had the same issue with my first.

I have the same problem right where the hanger shoulders end. How much water do you spray?

A good amount so that it feels moist. Wearing it and the heat of your body will loosen and fix it pretty quick while drying it.

For our high net-worth members here's a Balmacaan from Anderson & Sheppard
with a back pleat. No belt. My guess it that they can make you a belt, and a hood
for that matter.

I love that this is a Balmacaan but with those wide lapels like you might usually see on a topcoat (and the length is perfect). Every other Balmacaan I am seeing seems to have traditional, Prussian-style collars.

Has anyone else been able to find a similar raglan sleeve coat that has dramatic notched lapels like this which can be popped up? I tried this on in store and found that I was in between sizes so looking for other options. Or perhaps a MTM option in New York or London that I can try? Thanks!

IMO not really a Balmacaan because of the collar. Very similar to the coat Churchill
wore:

It's an interesting, a bit hybrid style, I like it too. It would look better with a belt though.

For what it is worth, my wife and a couple other female coworkers seem to not like raglan sleeves or the super big coat feeling. Not sure what it is about it. I know that a lot of female fashion can lean petite and more fitted. So that is already a hard pill to swallow.
