Look for a large scale herringbone. The pattern at least an inch or more in width. Any color you like. Would make a great raglan
Tweed then right? I’m guessing a large scale herringbone would be a tweed. Or maybe I can find a cashmere in that pattern. I solid navy cashmere wouldn’t be good either, right? But it seems like a tweed would be best for that.

Made this one in 2018. Client provided this LL cloth that was made up as a sample but never produced. View attachment 2287783

Perhaps something like this from London lounge would be good. Let me ask Alden if he has more of this.

I already have this vicuña and cashmere blend being made up as an ulster in Milan (martingale back, ulster lapels & mailbox pockets).

The raglan tailor is in Napoli by one of the few old maestros of that generation remaining. My original thought was get a second length of that same vicuña and cashmere (a merchant got a good price on the fabric - it’s costing me in the neighborhood of LL tweeds for a vicuña and cashmere). Perhaps I should do a raglan and ask the Napoli tailor if he has a suggestion for the vicuña and cashmere fabric

if you want a very special coat from the Maestro in Naples; ask him what coat style and cloth he would choose to make for you if it was all up to him.

Yes, that’s possible but it’s also very hard to communicate 😂. We are able to but it involves a lot of google translate. I’m not exactly sure how, but I ended up spending 3 hours at his sartoria at the last fitting despite the language barrier haha.

Purchased this Valstar Georgio grey DB herringbone coat from No Man Walks Alone. Where I live we have plenty of 20 and low 30 degree mornings so I am especially enjoying its long length especially if there is a breeze. I wear it like this, unbuttoned and popped collar, for a relaxed look. Very impressed by the quality of the fabric and construction. Excellent value as well.

Comfortabele pieces this busy Black Friday weekend at Amidé Hadelin..

You guys probably don’t like this coat fabric ‘only’ being 510gr.. but I really like the softness and flow of it!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
