Have you considered a Loden coat from neighboring Austria? I had one in high school from Bavaria
that was very warm in New York City. I currently have a Balmacaan from Burberry in Loden that is
over 30 years old that I wear when I travel to much colder places than California, where I now live.
As a bonus, Loden is very water repellant

Edward Sexton's greatcoat cut is structured, dramatic, and fun. I've a lot of slouchy coats, but nothing like this. This may be what I get next.

Shoulders remind me of those on the Mayor of Munchkin City:

Don’t think so but can’t really recall it was a 2 minute try on but is indeed with jacket underneath. I picked the Anthology/Permanent Style DB herringbone coat for versatility in the end but if I’m getting another outwear I would get this in charcoal or black (not the smooth one though prefer some texture on it)

I have this coat and it's amazing. I'd say it is pretty dramatic and attention grabbing. The one from Edward Sexton is not dramatic, it is peacock, in my opinion

In the style it's a trenchcoat, but the fabric is that of an overcoat.

My initial thought is that looks pretty good! What are your concerns about it that might warrant going MTM?
