I may have an hour or so to kill while touring colleges (GW, AU) in DC this weekend. What is the one store I should see? I would be as happy with a great selection of high end stuff at a Filenes as I would be at the Louis of DC. Thanks in advance.

Not much there, but the J. Press is fun visit. Better than the NYC shop.

Everard, Sky Valet and Field are all right in a little row on Wisconsin Ave in "north" Georgetown.

Is Everard still there?

Saks Fifth Avenue in Mazza Gallerie (Friendship Heights metro stop). Neiman-Marcus is next door, Filene's Basement (albeit not the good one) is downstairs. If you have some time, a really good Polo Ralph Lauren, Bloomingdale's, and Barney's Co-op are up the street.

The Filene's on Connecticut had good deals on Oxxford suits and some other stuff at one time. I'm not sure what they have now.

I operate a bespoke clothing business here, but unfortunately I am all booked up this weekend!

I'll second the mention of J Press. The guys who work there are great and eager to share political gossip. Chris, in particular, is quite sarcastic.

J Press is absolutely my favorite place to shop for ties.

Field moved up Wisconsin a few blocks, closer now to the heart of Glover Park. Sky Valet is definitely worth a visit.

This street is where I usually make a stop when I'm in DC.

WM Fox is good if you can't make it up to Skyvalet, etc.
