    The pussy line wasn't directed at you. More at the people with the "kids these days just don't understand" attitude.

    Kids today just don't know understand how to call someone a pussy in a non-confusing manner.

    Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea...Riding bikes all day in the summer w/ no helmets. Hitchhiking. Neighborhood cookouts.

    All great stuff. I barely remember Voyage, but I know I used to really like that one.

    My SF location is a paraphrase of a line from that show. Gilligan dreamed he was a South American dictator ... promising his people, "This, that, and the other things."

    Had not caught that, but I remember the episode. A classic! [IMG]

    Pond hockey! Do kids still shovel driveways or cut lawns for speding $? [IMG]

    [IMG] Pond hockey and bonfire on the bank at night. Some of my best childhood winter memories.

    Does anyone remember when the arrival of a new catalogue was a big event?

    Sears Christmas Wish Book. Anyone else spend hours looking at that?

    not only an electric typwritter, by I used to have a telex machine next to my desk - I may be the youngest person on earth who knows how to use a teletype machine.

    I wanted to get my son some of the old matchbox track on ebay, apparently the curves are rare and expensive now. strange world

    The sound of a Convair 440's twin Pratt & Whitney R-2800s ... on its take-off roll ... or flying overhead.

    Every now and again I'll hear that sound ... and I run to look.

    I remember!

    A bottle of milk ... with the cream having risen to the top.

    "You are old, Father William," the young man said,
    "And your hair has become very white;
    And yet you incessantly stand on your head"”
    Do you think, at your age, it is right?"

    "In my youth," Father William replied to his son,
    "I feared it might injure the brain;
    But now that I'm perfectly sure I have none,
    Why, I do it again and again."

    "You are old," said the youth, "As I mentioned before,
    And have grown most uncommonly fat;
    Yet you turned a back-somersault in at the door"”
    Pray, what is the reason of that?"

    "In my youth," said the sage, as he shook his grey locks,
    "I kept all my limbs very supple
    By the use of this ointment"”one shilling the box"”
    Allow me to sell you a couple?"

    "You are old," said the youth, "And your jaws are too weak
    For anything tougher than suet;
    Yet you finished the goose, with the bones and the beak"”
    Pray, how did you manage to do it?"

    "In my youth," said his father, "I took to the law,
    And argued each case with my wife;
    And the muscular strength which it gave to my jaw,
    Has lasted the rest of my life."

    "You are old," said the youth, "one would hardly suppose
    That your eye was as steady as ever;
    Yet you balanced an eel on the end of your nose"”
    What made you so awfully clever?"

    "I have answered three questions, and that is enough,"
    Said his father; "don't give yourself airs!
    Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff?
    Be off, or I'll kick you down stairs!"

    I remember:

    Those handheld electronic football games that were just LED blips

    When the centerfolds in Playboy still had ample pubic hair

    Silver trading at $50 an ounce and every fly-by-night coin dealer putting an ad in the paper enticing you to sell your pre-1965 silver coins

    Dr. J

    Tang

    Leisure suits (my younger brother had one in lemon yellow)

    Dance Fever

    Reagan almost wrestling the Republican nomination from Ford in '76

    Painting the fire hydrant outside our house for the Bicentennial

    Waiting in long lines for gas, and when regular gas meant it had lead in it

    Pull tabs on beer and soda cans (if you stepped on one of them, they'd really slice your foot open)

    When Ayds (pronounced like AIDS) was a diet candy

    The Tucson Toros were the AAA franchise for the Astros. This is a picture of the uniforms from 1980...

    Regarding the pull tabs on beer, in my freshman year we had free Stroh's all semester because they wanted to get rid of the pull tabs and one of the seniors had a parent who worked for Stroh's.

    Are you serious or kidding, because Wikipedia says he lives in Wilmer, AL?
