Original pieces made by George Nakashima. ?

Cool. What wood is the table made from? Did you get to meet him? I met Mira last year when I ordered a table. Prices for originals from George are out of price range. :(

Reached out to Peter Liem about the out of print sherry book and got one of these in the mail.

77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 7% Malbec. Coming along nicely.

Had this last night and it was singing. Tannins smooth as silk, nice cherry and rhubarb to it, a little scent of smoke. Just beautiful.

A couple of recent bottles.. The Paolo Bea is from my cellar and unfortunately seems to be headed downhill pretty fast. Kind of forgot how old these are. Still good but need to make quick work of my last couple.

Had the Selbach Oster at Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston the other day. Not a bad pairing!

We've been slurping that Rioja I landed 18 bottles of at $7.25 a bottle. Campo Viejo isn't going to set the world on fire but for a 2011 Gran Reserva? Just cannot be beat for a daily drinker.

Speaking of 7$ wines, I just picked up this white from local discount store; for 6.57$.

Passion fruit, grapefruitl. Zest, good acidity and a bit mineral. How this doesn't cost 2x-4x more Idk.
Amazing quality/price ratio. I think I have my go to summer drink for 2019.

NZ Sauv Blanc continues to be a great deal. They are also making some good Pinot these days. Fun fact: Central Otago is the world's most southern wine making region. Not the most southern vineyard though as I think there's some wild Pinot vineyard somewhere in Patagonia.

I really want to start dabbling in sherry, but I already get weird looks from my vast single malt collection. Being sub-40, its hard to shake stereotypes.

I really want to get into sherry too but I just can't - despite my best efforts. It just seems a nice standalone drink that you could open and savour when spirits could appear too gauche.

At 31 I have time, but unfortunately I haven't acquired the taste yet. I have tried various Oloroso, PX and Amontillados but none have hit the spot. This is the closest I have got but I would still rather have a bourbon (because I am a barbarian).

Luckily my Dad, who is in his 70s, likes it which is all that matters. I enjoyed the Malbec so wasn't all bad.
