Cork came out nicely. About a two hour decant. Some very mild bricking but smells youthful atm.

The Grange was simply stellar and I would say in its perfect drinking window. Above all this wine is massive yet it was balanced. Tons of dark fruit, think blackberries, with some stewed prunes or currants. Complex layering of chocolate, everything baking spice like vanilla and nutmeg, notes of caramel. Medium low acid, medium and smooth tannins. When I poured from the decanter it had been open three hours. Very slight bricking at the edge but dark, deep purple otherwise.

Yeah, it was awesome.

A couple of Grenache last night. The first was faded glory. Fresh fruits and florals gone to dried fruit and flowers. Still nice, but a shadow of its youth. The second was perfect. That purity Grenache can have with some savory depth. Great fruit and floral notes.
