A surprising incongruence between nose and taste, particularly at the finish.
Not bad at all, but doesn’t linger quite as long as the nose would have led me to assume.

Edit: finish is almost uncomfortably smooth

Last night to wash down dinner. Barossa Shiraz always big balanced against the Grenache..enjoyable.

@ericgereghty - Do you drink at work? I knew the carpet was not in your house and now the last comment has me confused. No judgement....y'all got any openings?

I have a wine fridge in my office (some for office, some because of overflow and how many bottles I own) and a few bottles of whiskey. Will have a glass during late meetings or a celebratory drink for large deals

A few from the past week. The Ledge is a drink now. The Burg was meh. A lot of tart rhubarb type flavours. Betz rarely lets me down.

Haha. Rarely, but certainly not never, particularly in Covid times...and especially hitting the later rounds of the Stanley Cup.
As with J below, I keep maybe 10 or so bottles (plus a couple of tequila) in the office at any given times, often to be able to bring a bottle either to a friend's for dinner or out to a restaurant. The latter because, as I've gotten into wine, the idea of spending $90ish on a bottle of Justin Cab (which I genuinely don't care for even at retail costs) has become intolerable to me.
That said, there is definitely a perverse pleasure reviewing tedious spreadsheets with an open bottle of Pinot and the Lightning on TV.

Pre-lockdown, my office had, for better or worse, become the spot if one needed a drink or to come vent :rotflmao:
