Grabbed this from the LB marathon. Forgot to open it earlier and early tasted make me think it needs to sit.

Also got my liver function blood work back today...this working from home thing is clearly affecting my liver function...

Very long day. Not at work. Needed to both unstress and celebrate.

Rosé of sangiovese. Bit more balanced than 2018, which was 14.8% alcohol!

The wine from last night was a lot better after sitting for a couple of hours. Drank it post-run and it hit me pretty hard as I was dehydrated.

First time trying Baja - really enjoyable and very solid QPR at ~20 - equal parts cab, merlot, cab franc and shiraz

I've had a chance to sample wine from this region several times and find it to be a decent warm weather QPR. In fact, two occasions are excellent memories.

NJE - how do you survive with 2 bottles a night. I am aching over here thinking about it

The trick is to get your tolerance up to 3 bottles a night, so that when you only drink 2 you feel virtuous.

Took a flyer on this because I love northern Rhone syrah and needed to try an Hermitage. This was a good bottle that got more expressive with a few hours, but definitely think it's something that needs some age to really show its character.
