That’s one of my favorite wines in the world. Happy to hear it was still kicking!

With this wine the Egurens of Rioja fame have hit the mother lode in Toro. The '01 version of Termanthia is outrageously powerful and deep, like a shot to the jaw from Lennox Lewis in his prime. It's maxed out in terms of leather, smoky oak, and depth of fruit. Almost hard to describe, it's so big and mauling. Hold until at least 2008. (MS) (6/2005)

Still fairly youthful. Tannins smooth but lots of Cab fruit. Perfectly handled the wagyu ribeyes.

Her column was good. She's a good wine writer even if a lady.

Robinson is great. Ruinart is great. Krug is great. Dom Perignon is great.

Both sides of the highway

I like Ruinart a lot. Perrier-Jouët a lot. Billecart-Salmon a lot.

Had dinner with her and her husband a few times in London. He did restaurant reviews for the Financial Times. I turned him on to the best new Argentinian steakhouse in the City at the time, so there.

Happy birthday America! Thanks for making such good wine.

Robinson is good. She, Vinuous (Neil Martin/Galloni), and Dunnuck are the most reliable critics for my palate
