What year was it Beaucastel cleaned things up and got rid of their bret? I found some vintages with too much so I tended to steer clear unless I know the level of bret going in.

Mid-90s was when the French got serious about brett, so anything from the last 20 years shouldn't be too funky.

Had their Châteauneuf-du-pape on a vertical testning about a year ago. Maybe 2004-2014 or something in that ballpark. Most of the vintages was great.

Recommend Beaucastels Blanc roussanne vieilles vignes. Some seriously good years and 2009 was kind of mind blowing.

Their Iso is usually pretty drinkable but I can't get over the fact they are now owned by Fiji Water.
True Story: Fiji water is owned by David Gilmour. I emailed them to ask if their owner is the same David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. It isn't.

Gilmour sold to the Resnick Family in 2004.They also own POM Wonderful and grow most of the almonds and pistachios in California, making them probably the state's biggest water (ab)users. After buying Justin, they sneakily cut down most of the old oaks on the property to max out vineyard plantings. Not a fan.

Back to cab.

Could be but I'm a long term buyer. I remember buying a case of their Sonoma Coast alone several years ago and then it was named WOTY. I horse traded away 10 bottles with somm friends and think I got back about 4x what I paid. I'm sure they did well hand merc'ing it.

What I have heard about KB is they are consciously trying to change the house style after the sale to Duckhorn and the next few vintages will be a bit of an experiment.

Some more Antica. Really like the balance here in a year when lots of people made massive wines.
