Perhaps even more oddly, I don't find it ironic at all! But then again I am very odd.

Well anyone who cuts the limes for his gin and tonics with a knife forged 400 years ago by a Samurai blacksmith might not be considered "normal."

the regulars in this thread aren't snobby in the first place. This helps.

This is as cheap as chips (in 2006 guise) and is very tasty and balanced. Best sub CAD$20.00 wine I've found at the LCBO, IMO.

the single vineyard bottling is even better at 20USD

2004 Celler Del Roure Maduresa [IMG] dark fruit, spices, slight vanilla with some huge tannins. Big wine without the fruit bomb simplicity, could use another 5 years. $27 dollars and very worth it.

Speaking of cellartracker/cellars, how do you guys store your wine? I know Piob has a big-timer double doored vinotemp. I'm looking for something that will hold 30 bottles, or less. I can't really see myself storing any more than that at any time in the foreseeable future. Also, I can't spring for a Vinotemp, although I recognize the importance of the temp and humidity control.
Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it under $100 if possible. Doesn't even need to be a refrigerator. A nice looking wine rack would be fine.

off topic, but a good book on wine cellars is How and Why to Build a Wine Cellar by Gold:

I used the advice in the book to build a large, passively cooled wine cellar. It looked like a science experiment but it was fun to build and worked very well.

BTW, can anyone who received Gomestar's video class links forward them to me? I was in the middle of watching them and had to stop, then deleted my pm history, and have since lost the link. Thanks. Is appreciated.

Kyle, you mad man! Guys, Kyle is a major party machine. I'm just sad we weren't able to get together last night too. I have mucho to catch up on, as while my hotel was fabulous (including comp upgrade to suite [IMG] ), the Netwebz was down.

I have, err, one or two things to poast over the next few days.

    1) yes, I believe this. 2) This would seriously piss me off. Probably shouldn't, but it would.
