There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I had not bought anything in a long time so I went a little crazy by my standards. The champagne was a bit of a splurge. My apologies for the blur.

:slayer: Huet and Prum are awesome.

Had a nice, fresh Cotat Les Monts Damnés tonight:

Awesome. People often seem surprised to hear this, but anything from the Cotats really ages very well.

Been drinking a lot of crazy cheap Italians. Some better than others, but all great weekday night bottles. None of these are over $10.

Italian reds tend to be a little more spottier than whites, which are almost always delicious. i don't mean pinot grigio.

I've enjoyed a few bottles of Beni di Batasiolo's Gavi di Gavi lately. Their regular Gavi is also decent but not as delicate. Arneis is great. For the fan of more fruity wines, Lugana offers quite a few good choices. Not everyone will like Campania's whites (Greco di Tufo etc.) but they're definitely interesting. I've also sampled a good Gewürztraminer from Bolzano. Overall I'd say there are many great choices but especially if you're not a big fan of rich fruit-forward whites, you'll often be disappointed.

Had a memorial night, of sorts, for an acquaintance who passed away. He was very much into wine, and the bottles reflect that fact. I brought the Cos.

In less expensive news, I bought a 12:er of Enzo Boglietti Barbera d'Alba 2012 to use as house wines. Liked the previous vintage very much.

    I would buy 50 cases of a $10 2007 Riserva Chianti.

You can buy the Terre Di Bo locally. How many cases should we buy? Doesn't that vintage Chianti have to be consumed quickly, I thought Chianti ages as gracefully as Zsa Zsa Gabor.

i can't comment on that individual producer, but in general a Chianti Riserva from 2007 would be in a perfect spot right now.
