A local wine guy here claims they had a fairly long off-stretch where their quality was off? Dunno. Not too easy to find up here.

Interesting that 20 years later I'd come to realize just how good the wines of Walla Walla are in general.

not a wine, but the craziest road movie i have ever seen. thank you for the fond memories.

today, i'm having a random grüner veltliner with petit münster and black bread. simple and delicious

Really enjoyed a bottle of 2007 BV Coastal Estates Cab! It was $7.99 and bought for using in a pot of Firehouse Chili. Decided to have a glass as was pleasantly surprised and the amount of body and structure it had...expecially when I was expecting a fruit bomb. At this price I just might have to go back and buy a few more bottles. [IMG]

I think I would have skipped the wine altogether in that case...

Would anybody care to make a recommendation for sub-40 dollar per bottle champagne or sparkling wine?

I'll admit to a fondness for some of the sparklers from Gruet, which come from, of all places, New Mexico. Inexpensive.

[IMG] I almost took a job working at the deli at their winery. I'm glad I decided to move back to Chicago instead.

Yep, it's on River Road outside of Guerneville, CA. It's actually a really beautiful winery, although the wine is lame.
