Hey guys. Been a while. Some lovely wines lately. The Gig was superb as was the 01 Veneto. The Saldo Zin from Napa was wonderful. Sadly, the CdP was corked.

Had some Mollydooker Velvet Glove last night. Plonk. Plonk with that nasty inert gas that I swear I had a reaction to.

You probably just didn't do the Mollydooker shake correctly. I'm sure it's a fantastic wine after it's shaken.

Yeah, the shake was done. I am honestly wondering if it was enough. I'm not kidding, either I have caught a nasty flu overnight, or I'm having a reaction to something. :(

I had a Mollydooker Carnival of Love last night and I feel the exact same way (plonk). No allergic reaction though.

    Mark, excellent haul!

I'm leaning towards flu now. I'm cold and shivering. Anyone that knows me IRL knows I'm the guy that sleeps with his bedroom windows wide open all winter.

I split the cost of the bottle with the somm at acquisition cost. Figured, "Why not?" I figured badly :(

I swear, touch of flu and I did have some sort of reaction to that gas.

I had full blown flu this morning and seriously think it coupled with the gas to make for a nasty result. I've yet to eat anything today. :(

I'm developing a taste for Gruner Veltliner (I think again on the earlier suggestions of either Gome or Piob) and have been appreciating how similar and food-friendly they are to alsacian whites. So far I've had some very good examples from Prager, Loimer and Stadt Krems.
