They're really all just barrel selections and the names for the chateau's 2nd wine and in some cases 3rd wine sometimes change.

3. Petrus is not 100% merlot and besides it's irrelevant because the grape variety isn't that important.

I also like the thought that the varietal of the grape is not "important." I think this is the best lulz in his whole schtick, particularly since he dismissed wine made from Concord grapes (which is correct, but not in keeping with the concept).
