Any idea which High School? There are three, creatively named Plano, Plano East and Plano West. If he's a hockey player though he could also have gone to one of the private schools in Dallas which have good hockey programs.

None, actually, most D1 college hockey players who played for a school played for one of the NE preps (Cushing, Stattuck-St. Mary's in Minn., Taft, or Salisbury usually). Most, however, play in competitive Jr. leagues. The player from Plano played in one of the Jr. leagues, I think he was based out of Washington State last year.

Alright today in class we did some component tasting. Isolated tastings of alcohol, acidity, light bodied wines, dry wines, sweeter wines, tannin, oak, and we had some Lindemann 2009 Chardonnay.

I liked it quite much. I was willing to pay up to $20 for it and I think for $6 it's a steal.

Hey, don't knock Left Coast wines. They make some world class stuff. Hell, even Manton recently admitted one was pretty damn good.

Bordeaux for my year was very good. '99 Pontet-Canet, 2000 Lascombes, 2003 Guiraud among a few equally good others. You'll probably have some good stuff from Italy, too (maybe some Barbaresco, Barolo and/or Amarone).

And for Spain/Portugal we were served some '75 Quinta do Noval ($600/bottle)

Unlikely, unless you get a good donor who loves Cali wine

Or if you're willing to pay quadruple the original cost of the class.

wish for it, but you never know what they'll have. Keep in mind I took it pre-crash and everything, the money was flowing much easier then. Teh GF's class wasn't as great for Bordeaux but they did have some late-80's Cote-Rotie and Hermitage.

Or if you're willing to pay quadruple the original cost of tuition.

FTFY. Well, maybe not, per credit hour I'm sure it's like $5,000 total.

K-dub, Les Claypool of Claypool Wines. He's the bassist. This video comes in with them finishing off YYZ by Rush and then after a few seconds of spoken word he really rips.

it's like 2000 per credit, so 4000 total.
