It wasn't that long ago. We basically left Napa in the late '70s because there was nowhere for me to go to school.

Well you're a geezer. Late 70's is a long time for a young 'un like me. [IMG]

But you get what I was saying?

Day Boat Sea Scallop... where you live... must have cost a lot to get there. Unless the "day boat" docked two days ago. [IMG]

Dood gets his ahi flown in from Hawaii daily. It's a big dollar joint, as you know.

There is a dry river bed in Pio town. I'm certain sea scallops form there when it rains.

There's a Dry Creek where I live. Or at least, live until Saturday. [IMG]
No sea scallops though, just lots of wine and olive oil.

The second part was great. Gary calmed down a bit, and it became more interesting. Now you guys know what I mean when I say that Lynch's wines always have a very particular point of view.

I'm half way through episode one, and I just had a major [IMG] moment when he talked about buying Mongeard-Mugneret Echezeaux and selling it at retail for $4.95. I paid $250 for the 1996 at Daniel not too long ago.

Wine is almost like another character in this movie. Of course, the metaphor that Miles views himself as the Pinot Noir grape (special, hard to appreciate, subtle, but oh so wonderful when nutured well) can't be lost on anyone.

Oh dear god how I hate that movie... [IMG]

Chef John put together a beautiful dinner for himself this evening. So far the Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc is pairing exceptionally well with his gnocchi.

    kthxbye

Really? I hardly classify it as a wine movie. It just seems like any old movie but happens to take place in the wine world.
stupid movie with awful people. except for sandra oh and diane lane!!! and he's dead wrong about Merlot.

Disagree. Awesome movie with awesome people. I have Rotten Tomatoes to back me up [IMG]

But I agree about the Merlot. Then again, how often do we see our resident Pinot head drink Merlot?
