Had the first proper day of gardening this last Sunday and decided to open the last of my Bindi bottles. I’m curious to explore the rest of the portfolio from Vine Street Imports.

Pretty tempted by the following offering from TFP - curiosity as much as anything:

2010 Alleromb Syrah Scarline Vineyard: $109.99 (TPU $29.99)

I'm considering putting in for 6. I have a feeling I will not get a full allocation.

I'm a bit down on FP as their shipping costs are outrageous. I'm limiting myself to one, maybe two cases for fall shipping. When you're dropping $3 a bottle for shipping that good QPR at $20 suddenly just had 15% hit.

Need some input on champagne again. I can buy the following bottles effectively at cost.

J. Lassalle Preference NV -30
Benoît Lahaye Rose de Maceration - 53
Pierre Paillard Les Parcelles -35
Benoît Lahaye Brut Nature -48
Laherte Freres Ultradition - 30

I’m particularly tempted by the Benoît Lahaye as I’ve heard great things but haven’t actually tasted any of these bottles. Would you jump on any of these? Thanks in advance.

They are all rather cheap for grower champagne. why not get all. or are you being offered cases of each at that price per bottle

I can get whatever I like without any quantity commitment! The only caveat is that the pick up is in Mass and I’m only anticipating going there maybe twice in the next couple of months.

Well, for me the sweet spot is the $20-30 range. I pay about $3.00 for sales tax anywho in-state, and my state does not have great options.

I don't know how much champagne you consume or how often do you drink and if all your drink is champagne. but at these prices I'll conservatively pick up 2-3 bottles each. 1 to drink, 1 to keep. and finally 1 to give away or an additional one to hold onto if its really good. mix them all into a case of 12. or if you think they are good deals, you should pick up more if you are driving to Mass and back.

A lot of the champagnes in this selection seem pinot focused. it might be helpful if you already know what sort of grape variety that you are partial to within the grower champagne universe. great prices for the stuff though.

Have had far more BdB than Pinot Noir focused champ. I drink about a bottle or two per week with dinner, but more than willing to fill out a cellar especially for the stuff that would benefit from being held back. This is great feedback, especially since I’m in the very very nascent stages of drinking bubbles.

I can get nice drinking stuff that we both like, particularly from Spain and Italy, for $15 or so. Our alcohol tax for wine is pretty low too, so as I've said, I'm re-evaluating the value proposition of both Full Pull and Fass. At least with Fass it's truly hard to find Euro stuff like that bottles of 1994 trocken Auslese I have waiting for me.

Okay, FP comes out with a winning offer two days in a row. I just put in for six of the Bedrock Heritage and six of the Zin. Bedrock is really hard to get an simply awesome stuff.
