Thought this was drinking really well this early. Went online and found a video of Helen saying she tries for that, so no longer feel ashamed. There's something about really fresh, vibrant GSM. Or in this case MGS.

Need to try the Firebelle. I haven't found a Napa Merlot (or predominantly Merlot) that I like more than Paloma. Tried the obvious -- Duckhorn, Pahlmeyer, Plumpjack. Vérité is a little too spendy! Any other recs?

Thanks. Ordered some 2012s for immediate investigation.

Having this today -- Cab, Petit Verdot, Malbec from Rutherford and Oakville. Very pleasant, maybe lacks a little grip but that's quibbling.

Inaugural vintage of Clarice Wines. This is from Adam Lee, founder of Siduri (Eddie Vedder wine, hello what's your name? Where did you go?) and Novi Wines.

Nice presentation. Did you join the club or affinity group or whatever it is they are calling it?

Yes, I was in the first round of Adam's solicitation. I've been on the Siduir/Novy Family lists for probably 13 years. I don't always buy but Siduri is not only a good wine but a good QPR in regards to CA Pinot.

Interesting model. 625 members at a grand a year each is a decent chunk of recurring revenue.

Shipping is included with that so that's $83 a bottle delivered. Not the cheapest wine but equal to or less than a whole bunch of CA wine that's not even Napa Cab.

Doesn't seem at all unreasonable. I was referring more to the community aspect -- private forums, insider access etc.

It's cool but how much of that is basically cost free marketing? I do have to get to one of his insider parties though.

This was new to me and worth sampling. I could see the French getting a little pissy about the branding, though.

Sea Smoke, worth it? Being in fly over country we obviously don't get allocations that frequently. That said, its a bit on the expensive side.

I really liked it at one time but I know they've changed wine makers and haven't kept track of the price. If I were to see it on a wine list for a good price I'd not pass it by. I quite my allocation when they declared themselves the First Growth of CA or something stupid like that.
