Booker is the schiznit. FWIW I've empty some glasses with Eric a few times and he maintains his wine should be drank young...actually, he maintains people tend to age most wine too long. His allocation just went through and I added half a dozen Oublie onto my order.

Yeah, no complaints from me on the Ripper. I bought mainly that and the Vertigo this year, a few Oublie and Fracture for variety. Denner allocation was delivered last week, still waiting on Herman Story.

Great vineyard and great winemaker in David Ramey. Delicious.

Any idea why they stopped making it after 2013? Lost the grapes?

This, like a lot of Napa 2014s, is already drinking great.

Seems to me they're going out of business. I stopped buying in 2013 and I see they're down to just a few bottlings in 2016.

Would be sad. It's always a shame to see a real passion project come up short. But it's a tough business.

Denner Ditch Digger 2016, Paso Robles. This is 50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, 10% other stuff. Lots of strawberries and five spice evident at the moment.

Vinfanticide, mate! I had a 2013 the other day and should have waited.

I just cancelled my Limerick Lane allocation. Third party shippers suck. California sales tax plus $10 a bottle shipping. **** them.

Had to pop one. Rest are going to sleep for a few years. I mean it's not bad now, just very primary -- all red fruit. Should have a bit more gravitas in time.

I use a specialist shipper these days and it's great. They pick up from the wineries in Napa/Sonoma (further afield just ship to their warehouse), consolidate everything and deliver to the house in a refrigerated Sprinter when I ask them to. $25 a case.

Smells dense and sweet, a lot of acid on the palette and dry enough to hang with food. Sad to say I only purchased one of these. We’re having carrot based gnocchi with a Parmesan and black pepper emulsion sauce.

I'm not sure when Grenache Day was but we had a Ferrand CdP last week.

2006 Domaine de Ferrand Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (9/17/2018)
Medium red, Browning slightly. Elegant light intense nose, earthy BlackBerry, mushroom and pepper. Dry medium weight flavours, plum, berry and pepper and a dry mouth filling finish.

Nice traditional CdP just turned d down to about 6 on the volume. (90 pts.)
Nice. I have one of the 2005 left.... Last time I had it, it was excellent. Hopefully it's holding up as well as your 2006.

Sorry, no. Gonna go out on a limb and guess it's pretty plush. ;)

Speaking of which, some pure hedonism tonight. They could sell this for a LOT more. Nice that they don't.
