That collection makes me want to not ever drink any of my bordeauxs, so in 20 years that'll be me (minus the first growths) lol

I'm confident that these were auction purchases but it was certainly inspiring. The majority of the bottles, mostly old world and Napa cab, were dated for to early 2000's.

Had a nice night Friday. My friend brought the '91 Brunello that she has had since it was released. It was really nice. The oldest wine I've had to date.
2010 Clerc Milon was amazing. Going to hold on to my second bottle for a bit.

I love Brunello! One of my favorite wines! I enjoy also Valpolicella, had some 2008 Ripasso that was great!

Lopez de Heredia Gran Riserva today. Oak had integrated pretty well, nice wine to drink on a cooler day like today.

Historically I have hated Blaye, but took a chance with this. It tasted like a Rhone Valley wine. Very barnyardy. I enjoyed it very much, but I was hoping to drink a Bordeaux.

Maybe a long shot, but does anyone know of some type of crash course for a Somm level 1 offered in Napa? Couldn't find much online.

Have a couple months off between work projects and always wanted to expand my horizons on wine - I love it but would like to delve into a better understanding of it.

A wise man once told it me it better to spend $5k on wine taking notes along the way than on a $5k wine course for certification you never intend to use.

You might check your local community colleges. My local community college has a pretty well developed wine program and they offer several different sensory evaluation (guided tasting) courses. Not a somm certification program, but really useful in developing your palate.
